Look Who Came To Visit! (Memorial Weekend)

Randy, Lori (my sister), Lacey and Kimberlee came up to stay for the long weekend. We always have such a blast together. They were the first visitors @ our home since bringing Liliah home. Here are the girls at Snoqualmie Falls taking in the beautiful site. We also did some shopping, visited a local farm and enjoyed each other's company. We had gorgeous weather!

I just love these guys! We are family, but great friends too.

We celebrated Kimberlee's 25th birthday! We wish you a great year with many blessings in store!!!

Can you feel the spray?

There is a beautiful hotel at the top of the falls. Okay, China Travel group.....we have some great sites that we could take in at one of our future reunions! We miss you all so much and definitely want to keep in touch & make plans to see you all.

Very, Merry, Month of May

Waahoo.....lovin this new pink puffy thing Mom put on me.....not sure what it's for yet, but I had fun wearing it around the house tonight! We can't wait to take Liliah out on the lake in what we affectionately call, rubber ducky....stay tuned.

My two favorite girls snuggling with Mama in bed after a long day. These 2 make me giggle.....Maddy is coming in for the smooch.....

Right on the kisser.......Maddy can't get enough of Liliah.....who could blame her. It only took Liliah about 2 days home from China to warm up to this big sweet gal. I'm so glad because I adore both of them....and the man behind the camera!

The 3 Amigos! May was a BUSY month for us. We have gotten into a routine after I returned to work in April (4 days a week). The first week of May, we headed to see a developmental specialist to measure her milestones. At 20 mos of age, she tested @ 16 mos for her gross motor skills (walking & movement), 18 mos for her cognitive - problem solving skills and 20 mos for her comprehension & fine motor skills. The only area that we need help with at this time is speech. Her current understandable words are Ah-Oh, Ah-Oh Mama. She signs for "more" food and if she is hungry and "all done." She can shake her head no....makes a sound for hi, hello and goodbye....mimicking my sound. She also can say something that sounds like up and uses the hand gestures. We qualified for her to have a speech therapist come to our home bi-weekly. She will start on Monday of next week. On May 18th, we headed down to Children's Hospital to meet with the Cranio-Facial team. The facilities are really nice and we enjoyed meeting with the doctors. We found out that Miss L has gained 3 lbs and grown 2 inches since bringing her home from China. We also got the good news that she will only need 1 surgery to correct her soft palette. She may have additional needs for orthodontia care as she gets older and we have to see how her speech develops, but that is pretty much it. We have scheduled her surgery for the end of October. We want to give her time to continue to bond with us, add some more pounds to her cute little self and continue to enjoy our first summer as a family.

There's a Munchkin in the Garden

We wish you a very Happy Birthday, today, Mom & Nana.....many, many more to come

My first chocolate chip cookie on the back steps with Mom

Look a cute little munchkin has come to visit me in my garden

Mom & I are taking a break after all that digging and planting

She looks so adorable in her new summer bloomers. When I pointed to the flowers on the butterfly, she put her nose to smell them.....too precious. I did tell her that she won't think it's cool at 3 to be wearing bloomers.

One of her favorite things to do is play in the pebble pathways....filling up her bucket....and distributing throughout Mama's garden

First Mother's Day

Liliah, you are a dream come true, the answer to my prayers. You are the daughter that I have longed for & loved long before I saw your face. To have you in my life fills me with such awe and joy.

I remember the past two years of Mother's Day how much hope & joy I had on the journey to you. The first year (the day before Mother's Day), God whispered your name to me. You were 3 months from being born. The second year, I remember telling your daddy that I felt like a mother (little did I know that you were 9 mos old & waiting for me).

A very happy mommy posing with her sweet girl @ the Botanical Garden. You are a busy 20 month old here who is pointing at her daddy

Sweet kisses......
