Springtime Baby!

Spring has sprung in our area about a month early and we are ecstatic!  I picked up this watering can for Liliah as she just loves mine, but it is too large.  She did this an evening last week while I prepared dinner.  We must have refilled it 6 or 7 times.  She & I will be starting a veggie and flower garden this year, so I envision this will satisfy her need to be a big helper.  What a joy it is to discover the world with her doing simple things.

My bathing beauty . . . she does so good laying up on the bathroom counter for her hair washing.  Liliah has dry skin so I limit her bathing, but she often gets her hair dirty- messy.  I figure I'm prepping her for future salon visits.  She even lifts her head without my asking so I can rinse the back of her head.  She'll be a pro by the time she has her first hair cut!!

Liliah now weighs 24 lbs and is 33 inches in height at 2.5 years.  She started speech in January (2x monthly) at our home.  She is starting to make good vowel sounds, and is doing pretty good with C's, B's, M's, N's & P's.  Her understanding of language and direction is on target-advanced.  She has a long way to go in pronunciation.  Within the past couple of months she just figured out how to do motor boat and blow rasberries.  She is starting to really use her tongue and front of her mouth.  This is a challenge for a child who did not have a roof of the mouth.  I just love going down the road hearing her making these sounds....she's still our baby!  I love how she says balloons.....BA BOON.  The other day we went shopping and she clapped her hands and said, yeah when she saw the mall!  I told Daddy he's in trouble!!!!!  Liliah loves airplanes.....she makes a swooping up with her hand and a sound and then says, Papa....Nana!  In her first year with us she traveled by plane in China, to home plus two additional family trips.  She is a great traveler.
