2007 is the Year!

2007 is the year we decided to follow our hearts and adopt a baby girl from China. After much research, we chose America World as our adoption agency. We could see their passion and commitment to help families & orphans find one another. The other thing that spoke to me was their founding scripture of Isaiah 29:11. This is the same scripture that really helped my heart in the tough times. We signed up on my mother's birthday on May 18, 2007. We then began the whirlwind of paperwork involved in an international adoption. We visited doctors, met with a social worker to evaluate us, our home and why we were adopting. We were fingerprinted by Homeland Security, met with our local police department and applied for passports We ran here and there to get our documents notarized and on their way to be certified by our state, and then finally to the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco. After 5 months, we completed our dossier and got it into the hands of our agency for translation and submission to the Chinese government. We received a log-in date of November 14, 2007 - this was our place in the long line to our daughter.
