It's Official

It's official, she's ours!

Down the street shot

Let's see what will go in this bucket

What talent

It's official....she's for keeps. According to China on Tuesday, January 13th, Liliah is now legally ours. We spent 1/2 the day going to different offices and signing the legal documents....being asked if we are happy and want to keep our baby....promising never to abuse or abandon them, etc., and handing over the bulk of our dough. We gave out a cheer in the van as our adoption paperwork is now complete with the exception of picking up our daughter's passport on Friday before heading to Guangzhou on Saturday.

We revisited Wal Mart for a few needed supplies, grabbed some pizza hut to go and headed back for a party in Dan, Becky & Bethany's room. I spent sometime playing with Liliah and took some videos (which by the way are taking a long time to load so I will post videos we are taking once back in the US) Later, we decided to be adventurous again and go for a walkabout in the city. That means we had to watch the locals and dart (cross) into the street when they did to safe territory. We ended up at a park to a crowd listening to some live chinese music in the park. We never ended up seeing who the singer was because when the music stopped.....as we were coming up....I am not kidding you.....everyone soon turned (a big crowd of mostly men) and just stared at us. We smiled and then kept moving on as we didn't want to be the show! I was carrying Liliah in the snugli with a blanket draped over her body and wrapped towards me. An older chinese man came walking up to me talking with alot of words and lifted up my blanket to peek under to see how Miss L was attached to me and then was laughing and looked relieved. For dinner, we headed back to a buffet that our guide took us the night before. We had a since of accomplishment by ordering on our own and liking everything brought to us.....okay, so it helped that Glenn took us the night before. We had a nice waitress who learned English in the university and wanted to practice it on us. Here are a few pictures of the day.

Congratulations to the proud parents of Liliah!!! Sharon & Darryl...your faithfulness and prayers have been rewarded...I know you've heard this before and it's worth repeating that God is faithful "giving you the desires of your heart." The pictures certainly tell the story that the results have been worth the wait. I'm glad that you have another family to hang out with. Have a good day!
Love you lots! Dad and Mom
